A forage of local edible seaweeds species guided by experienced botanical illustrator and forager, Chris Rockely. Followed by a workshop on preparation and preserving methods to make seaweed products to take home.
Katie’s Cove is a well loved algae and snorkel hotspot in Melbourne’s West. There is a large array of seaweeds found in and around the rockpools there. It's a great chance to see these seaweeds growing and the creatures that inhabit them.
We will begin the day with an 1hr morning ramble and forage and then we take our edible finds back to the Anglers hall. Here we will explore preparation and preserving methods and then get creative and make a range of seaweed products to take home.
